TCC information on possible degree programs / certifications that can be completed after high school:

The Aviation Academy allows students to begin taking dual credit college courses in the field of Aviation while still in high school.  


*There are multiple pathways within the Aviation Academy*

 

Pilot Pathway (Requires additional money for TCC tuition, books, and flight training.) 

      9th Grade - Foundations of Aviation

      10th Grade - Introduction to Aircraft Technology

      11th Grade - TCC (Must pass TSI test prior to enrollment)

      Fall Semester - Air Navigation and Aviation Meteorology

      Spring Semester - Private Pilot Ground and Private Pilot Flight ($11,666 estimated flight cost)

      12th Grade - Students have two options.

      Option 1 - Continue with pilot training for a career as a commercial pilot.

      Fall Semester - Instrument Ground and Instrument Flight ($10,762 estimated flight cost)

      Spring Semester - Advanced Air Navigation and Intermediate Flight ($8,321 estimated flight cost)

      Option 2 - Stop flight training after completion of private pilot and take dual credit courses.

      These courses could be core classes or aviation classes with TCC, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University or traditional high school classes.

 ** Additional advanced flight courses may be available on a case by case basis. **

      9th Grade - Foundations of Aviation

      10th Grade - Introduction to Aircraft Technology

      11th Grade - TCC (Must pass TSI test prior to enrollment) ($1000 - $2000  estimated tool cost)

      Fall Semester - Aviation Sciences and Shop Practices

      Spring Semester - Basic Electricity and Ground Operations

      12 Grade - TCC

      Fall Semester - Power Plant Electricity and Weight & Balance

      Spring Semester - Federal Aviation Regulations

 

Pre-Aeronautics Pathway (Requires additional money for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University tuition and books) 

      9th Grade - Foundations of Aviation

      10th Grade - ERAU (Unweighted CGPA of 2.75 to enroll)

      Fall Semester - Intro to Aero Science

      Spring Semester - Intro to Space Flight

      11 Grade - ERAU

      Fall Semester - Intro to Flight

      Spring Semester - Transportation Science

      12 Grade - ERAU

      Fall Semester - Intro to Flight Physiology

      Spring Semester - UAS Intro Course

 

Additional Info: All pathways lead to a college level course, there is no pathway currently where a student can take 4 years of aviation courses at the high school.
