ORGANIZATIONS

School sponsorship will apply only to curriculum-related groups or clubs
sponsored by the school. The following general guidelines will apply to all
school-sponsored organizations:

  1.  One or more District employees will serve as sponsors for each organization.
  2. A constitution, charter, set of by-laws, and/or the organization’s plan of operation will be approved by the principal for each school-sponsored organization.
  3. All financial accounts and reports will be maintained by the principal or the principal’s designee.
  4. Each sponsor shall adhere to appropriate District procedures governing deposits, expenditures, and record keeping.
  5. An annual budget will be filed with the principal or principal’s designed detailing anticipated revenue and expenditures.
  6. Appropriate approvals will be obtained before initiating a school-sponsored activity. Approved activities will be placed on the school’s activity calendar.
  7. All publications and materials associated with the organization must be approved prior to distribution in accordance with District policy.
