SCHOOLSPONSORED
ORGANIZATIONS
School sponsorship will apply only to curriculum-related groups or clubs
sponsored by the school. The following general guidelines will apply to all
school-sponsored organizations:
- One or more District employees will serve as sponsors for each organization.
- A constitution, charter, set of by-laws, and/or the organization’s plan of operation will be approved by the principal for each school-sponsored organization.
- All financial accounts and reports will be maintained by the principal or the principal’s designee.
- Each sponsor shall adhere to appropriate District procedures governing deposits, expenditures, and record keeping.
- An annual budget will be filed with the principal or principal’s designed detailing anticipated revenue and expenditures.
- Appropriate approvals will be obtained before initiating a school-sponsored activity. Approved activities will be placed on the school’s activity calendar.
- All publications and materials associated with the organization must be approved prior to distribution in accordance with District policy.
